ok ive just watched a local feedback/news programme that discuss abt the recent cases of taxi drivers that are doing things that they shdnt.

n somehow, i felt like blogging abt that too.

simply cos ive experienced them n have been a passenger to those kinda jokers, though im not really the taxi kinda girl. im the bus kinda girl. ok wadeva.

so amongst the many encounters are......

-hailed for a taxi but they just swooshed past me. mostly taxis with the 'hired' light.

at that point of time, i thought that maybe other customers had called for those taxis.

but since im aware of the situation now, i guess those might be the jokers.

- some jokers drive as if there're no traffic lights n that only they pay for road tax n hence, they dont care abt other road users.

they change lanes w/o signalling, change lane abruptly, drive speedily then jam on the brakes like nobody's business when it comes to traffic lights, drive jerkily, tailgate, talk on the phone while driving, drive in a 'snake' manner n yadayadayada.

- some jokers are really friendly & chatty that when i'm chatting along with them, they wld bring me for a sight-seeing outing all round spore w/o me knowing that they took the longer route.

- i'm not familiar with the diff expressway routes & when asked which expressway to take, i'll normally just say the shortest one but they wld take advantage of my 'sotongness' n use the longer route.

so why wld those jokers do such things to con customers?

customers pay for their services & they have a pleasant ride to their next destination.

well, maybe some customers are rude or do funny stuffs in the taxis or act superior like some lost & confused big shots

so maybe the jokers thought that it's appropriate to punish those kinda customers.

but then again, maybe the jokers thought that there'll always be demand for taxis so they can do whatever they want or take advantage of customers just to get more $$$$.

c'mon lah.....it doesnt take a wise man to tell you that that's such an imoral thing to do no matter what the situations may be.

one must not cheat on others if he/she doesnt want to be cheated.

so why does these things happen?

i wonder.....

personally, i guess those jokers have to pay the price for their mistakes, depending on how serious their 'crime' is.

those mediocre mistakes can be dealt with with just a warning or something like that.

but if it prevails or mistakes are more serious, they shd be punished.

however, we, the consumers/customers/passengers have to play a part as well.

dont irritate taxi drivers as we must understand that as they are mostly senior & that they work pretty hard to support their family.

if there's mutual understanding & both parties do good at all times,

we'll all live happily ever after rite?

consumers to reach destinations safely & happily while taxi drivers get their well deserved $$ for the excellent service provided to passengers regardless of race, language, religion, looks, culture, traditions yadayadayada.

so yea, we shd all deserve to be happy cos spore is a happy country!
